TAMUK-COMPOSITES
TAMUK-Composites are a very well-versed and reliable rabbit breed. They were originally developed at the Texas A&M University around the mid 1980s. They were created by crossbreeding seven breeds of rabbits: Red and White New Zealand, Siamese Satin, Californian, Dutch, Champagne d'Argent, Harlequin, and Havana. TAMUKs key traits are fast growth, high heat tolerance, very docile breed with calm temperaments, great maternal instincts meaning bigger litters and higher survival rates, soft and thin coats meaning less shedding and grooming, and lots of coat colors.
TAMUKs are not currently a show-breed and have no timeline or expectation to be a show breed due to difficulty in having a Standard of Perfection (SOP) made for the American Rabbit Breeders Association (ARBA) recognition.
TAMUKs are an amazing pet breed and/or livestock breed that can be an amazing addition to any home or homestead!
